Summary
Their regular Chinese and Japanese cuisine may be good, but don't go here expecting anything more than average sushi. If you do order sushi, go for tempura-type rolls like the Supa Dupa Crunch.
Sushi - 5 out of 10
I would say that the fish was of average quality. I got a Pontchartrain Roll, which contained tuna, salmon, yellowtail, avocado, asparagus, and roe. While the asparagus gave it a nice fresh twist, the tuna was mealy (probably refrozen), the salmon was a little chewy, and the fish had a hint of fishiness to it. The side of spicy mayo it was served with helped blend and mask the flavors, so I wouldn't say that it was a complete failure, just nothing special. It was about the same for all the other rolls (with one exception): average.
The Supa Dupa Crunch roll, however, was quite good. It had shrimp tempura, crab stick (which they called snowcrab), cream cheese, avocado, and asparagus. Of all the rolls we had, it was by far the best.
Service - 6 out of 10
There was nothing special or lacking in our service: all-in-all our server was invisibly attentive. Drinks were refilled preemptively and I had no complaints.
Miscellaneous
The restaurant had been renovated recently and the inside of the building is nice. However, the tables, chairs, and cups don't really fit the decor. The tables and chairs were the kind you'd find in a deli and the cups were the large, red, plastic Coca-cola cups: they need nicer furnishings to fit their nice new building.
What We Ordered
1 Pontchartrain ($9.00)
1 Supa Dupa Crunch ($10.00)
1 Angel ($6.00)
2 Philly Rolls ($5.50)
1 Snow White Roll ($6.00)
